The Artist is a final project presented for my Video Production course at FAU. The course itself was a required class for my major and served as the introduction to film production. Interestingly enough, this was the only one of the few films I created for the course that has a full-fledged production "pipeline," so to speak, as it consisted of a treatment, storyboard, post-production process, and so on.
This version has been muted on YouTube in respect of copyright law.
In initial reaction, I recall feeling really shy showing this to my fellow classmates as I opened up about how I felt at the time, about what I felt as a creative. I also struggled with the decision on having this uploaded muted, but decided in a clear mind:
Is it worth it to post something and get copyright-striken? Of course not! Despite getting permission for the music use in the original file, I decided to mute on my own accord. A goal I still reach is to properly instill copyrighted music in my projects, but another goal also emerged when I made this: "What if I made my own music?"
Yeah... that goal hasn't been worked on a lot, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there! For now, archive the old and plan the new!
Edit: I figured out a way to show the other things I have made for this project! Below is a full rundown of the project. Enjoy!
